2024 WCPL California Classic
The 2024 WCPL California Classic was a World Classic Paintball League tournament scheduled for 10–11 August 2024 at Shooter's All Season Paintball and Airsoft in Nicolaus, California. The advertised competition was open ten-player paintball with ten-minute games.[1]
PBLeagues retains seven team entries and an unscored match schedule, but does not publish final placings.[2][3]
Title and venue
[edit]PBLeagues records the tournament as the California Classic. The venue was listed at 2891 Garden Highway, Nicolaus, California.[1]
The previous year's event at the same venue was promoted by the WCPL as the Northern California Classic. The verified 2024 event record uses the shorter California Classic title.[1][4]
Scheduled dates
[edit]The event information lists Saturday, 10 August, to Sunday, 11 August 2024.[1]
The surviving match schedule contains fixtures for Saturday, 10 August only. Preliminary games were scheduled from 8:15 am, followed by three final-round fixtures at 2:00 pm, 2:20 pm and 2:40 pm. These are scheduled times, rather than evidence of completed matches.[2]
Advertised format
[edit]The registration category was Open 10v10 (Sat–Sun), with ten-minute games. PBLeagues displayed seven registered and paid teams.[1]
The published preliminary schedule paired each of the seven teams with the other six. It identified the playing area as Field 1. The final-round fixtures retained placeholder entries rather than named finalists.[2]
Registered teams
[edit]The following seven entries appear in the event record. They are listed alphabetically, not in finishing order.[3]
- Billy Goat Bastards
- Black Sunday
- CockFighters
- Fatal Swoop
- Ironmen
- Valve Monkeys
- Wolverines
Event status and results
[edit]The surviving PBLeagues schedule does not contain match scores, and its team list assigns no final placings.[2][3]
Completed competition, cancellation or rescheduling has not been confirmed. No winner or final standings are assigned here.
Calendar position
[edit]The California Classic followed the 2024 WCPL Florida Open in the league's United States event archive.[5]
The next listed event was the 2024 WCPL St. Louis Classic, scheduled for 12–13 October 2024 at Gateway Paintball Park in Bridgeton, Missouri.[5][6]
