2023 WCPL California Classic
The 2023 WCPL California Classic, also promoted as the Northern California Classic, was a paintball tournament held on 5–6 August 2023 at Shooter's All Season Paintball and Airsoft in Nicolaus, California. It formed part of the World Classic Paintball League's 2023 season.[1][2]
Black Sunday won the eight-team open ten-player competition, followed by Ironmen and Toxic Teddys.[3]
Name and organisation
[edit]The WCPL's announcement of 11 July 2023 called the event the Northern California Classic and identified Fred Schultz as its host. PBLeagues used the shorter title California Classic for the tournament at the same venue and on the same dates.[1][2]
The event was separate from the 2023 WCPL Southern California Classic, held at Ambush Paintball Park in February.[4]
Venue and dates
[edit]PBLeagues listed the tournament for Saturday, 5 August, and Sunday, 6 August 2023, at Shooter's All Season Paintball and Airsoft, 2891 Garden Highway, Nicolaus, California.[2]
The WCPL's July announcement confirmed the venue and dates and reported that field preparations were under way.[1]
Format
[edit]The competition was listed as Open 10v10 (Sat–Sun), with ten-minute games. PBLeagues recorded eight registered and paid teams, matching the eight final placings.[2][3]
The published results contain one open ten-player division.[3]

Earlier WCPL publicity announced a subsequent Saint Louis Gateway Classic for 14–15 October 2023 at Gateway Paintball. That announcement establishes the planned event; it does not establish its final attendance or results.[5]
