2002 Volcanic Rotorua Paintball Tournament

From WikiPaintball

2002 Volcanic Rotorua Paintball Tournament, described in the contemporary report as the Tracs Volcanic, was held on 1–2 June 2002 at Rotorua International Stadium. Organised by the Rotorua Paintball Club and Peter Mumby, the tournament attracted twenty teams. Australia's Jetts won the Cup, while Rush won the Plate.[1]

Tournament

[edit]

Games used a centre flag and lasted ten minutes. Teams initially competed in four pools seeded according to performances at previous events. The ten highest-scoring teams across the pools advanced to the Cup competition, while the remaining ten contested the Plate.[1]

Two inflatable fields were used. One was the Sup'Air field used at the 2001 tournament, subsequently purchased by Extreme Events, an Auckland organisation headed by Wayne Rolleston. The other came from Christchurch and was supplemented with wooden barricades.[1]

Australian teams Jetts and Diabolique attended, both including some New Zealand players.[1]
