Help Preserve New Zealand Paintball History

Do you remember a team, tournament or paintball field that deserves to be documented?

Many important parts of New Zealand paintball history were never formally recorded.

Old websites have disappeared, forums have closed, businesses have ceased operating, and photographs and tournament results have been lost.

Some of the most valuable information survives only in the memories and personal collections of former players, field operators and event organisers.

We're particularly interested in:

  • Historical tournament results and team rosters
  • Photographs, videos and old event programmes
  • Information about former paintball fields and businesses
  • Early equipment and locally manufactured markers
  • Historical magazines, websites and newspaper articles
  • Personal recollections from players, referees and organisers

Firsthand memories are valuable, especially when they help identify people, places and events in surviving photographs or documents.

Where possible, WikiPaintball aims to distinguish historical recollections from information independently verified through contemporary sources.

Even a small contribution can help recover a forgotten part of New Zealand paintball history.

About This Collection

New Zealand is one of the first countries being documented by WikiPaintball because of the project's existing knowledge, historical records and connections within the New Zealand paintball community.

The collection is a work in progress.

Some teams and tournaments have substantial surviving documentation, while others are known only through a handful of photographs, newspaper clippings or personal recollections.

As new material becomes available, existing articles can be expanded and corrected.

Our aim is to build a lasting historical reference that recognises everyone who contributed to the sport, from prominent national teams to local recreational fields and volunteers.
