Shock Tactics was a New Zealand tournament paintball team documented in national and regional competitions during 2001 and 2002. Its best recorded result was seventh in the Cup standings at the 2002 Volcanic Rotorua Paintball Tournament.[5]

The singular name Shock Tactic, printed in the 2001 Rotorua Volcanic results, was a spelling variant of Shock Tactics.[1] Related entries named Shock (W) and Shock (P) competed separately from Shock Tactics at the 2002 Hawke's Bay 3-Man. The surviving report does not explain the two qualifiers, and their results are therefore retained as separate event-squad records.[4]

History

2001

Shock Tactics first appears in the available results as Shock Tactic at the Rotorua Volcanic tournament on 2–3 June 2001. The team scored 350 points across fourteen preliminary games but did not advance to either divisional final.[1]

At the 2001 New Zealand Paintball Nationals at Actions Paintball, Shock Tactics recorded 275 preliminary points and did not advance to a divisional final.[2] The October 2001 Valhalla National Rankings placed the team 19th in the seven-player table with 44.6 ranking points, comprising 25 points from the Rotorua event and 19.6 from the Nationals.[3]

2002

Three related entries competed at the Hawke's Bay 3-Man on 2–3 February 2002. Shock (W) scored 902 preliminary points, Shock (P) scored 670 and Shock Tactics scored 480. None reached the two-team final.[4] The contemporary result does not establish that the parenthetical letters represented locations, nor does it provide rosters for the entries.

At the 2002 Volcanic Rotorua Paintball Tournament on 1–2 June, Shock Tactics qualified for the ten-team Cup competition. It finished seventh in the Cup standings with 417 points, behind Phantom and ahead of Kamo Karzi.[5]
