Super 5s (New Zealand)
Super 5s was a five-player paintball tournament series in Auckland, New Zealand, documented in contemporary records from 2004 to 2007. Teams competed in individual rounds and accumulated points towards divisional season standings. Documented venues included Kumeu Showgrounds and A Paintball Adventure in Papakura.[1][2][3][4][5]
History
[edit]2004 season
[edit]Contemporary forum records document Super 5s activity during 2004. A season discussion titled “Super5 2004” was followed by a February results thread and discussions concerning the March, April, May and June rounds. A separate April thread announced a change of date.[1]
2005 season
[edit]The fourth round of the 2005 season took place on 22 May at Kumeu Showgrounds. Same-day participant reports described wet and muddy conditions and congratulated Saints on winning by two points. The surviving discussion does not identify the runner-up or provide a complete results table. The next round was announced for 26 June.[2]
The September announcement referred to games played during August. The September round took place on 18 September at A Paintball Adventure, 80B Hunua Road, Papakura, with post-event messages confirming that play had occurred.[3]
An organiser's reply stated that the October round had been booked for 9 October, allowing a two-week interval before the proposed Rotorua Labour Weekend event. The same reply noted uncertainty over the Labour Weekend arrangements.[3]

Legion competed in Division One after winning Division Two the previous year. Following the sixth round, standings published on 27 August placed Legion first in Division One with 4,895 points and Sinista first in Division Two with 3,168. These were interim standings, rather than final championship results.[4][5]
The April round announcement identified A Paintball Adventure in Papakura as the venue.[6]
Venues
[edit]The May 2005 round was held at Kumeu Showgrounds. By September that year, competition was taking place at A Paintball Adventure, the indoor field at 80B Hunua Road, Papakura. The available announcements establish the use of both venues during 2005 but do not identify the precise date of the change.[2][3]
A Paintball Adventure also hosted the series in 2007.[6]
