Skullz (New Zealand Paintball Team)
Skullz is a New Zealand competitive paintball team documented in tournament records from July 2008 to September 2013.[1][8] The team competed in the Wanganui Speedball series, placed third in the Plate at the 2011 NZPPL Rotorua Tournament and later appeared in three 2013 New Zealand Paintball Players League events.[1][4][5]
Tournament history
[edit]Skullz first appears in the recovered results at the 2008 Wanganui Speedball series. The team scored 115 points in July, 530 in September and 240 in November, finishing seventh in the season standings with 885 points.[1] Skullz A and Skullz B were subsequently registered for the Paintball Direct Speedball End of Year Blowout on 27 December.[2] The registration list does not confirm that either squad participated. A contributor familiar with the team identifies Skullz A and Skullz B as squads of Skullz.
At the 2011 NZPPL Rotorua Tournament, held at Lakes Ranch on 4–5 June, the day-one score table listed the team as “Skillz”, placing it tenth with a reported 301 points.[3][4] The final Plate standings used the spelling “Skullz” and placed the team third. A contemporary participant specifically corrected the third- and fourth-place order to Skullz ahead of ADHD.[4] A contributor familiar with the team confirms that “Skillz” was a spelling error rather than a separate identity.
In 2013, Skullz placed fourth in the Cup at both 2013 NZPPL Super 5 Man Event 1 in Waikanae and 2013 NZPPL Super 5 Man Event 2 in Paraparaumu.[5][6][7] The team later placed sixth at the 2013 NZPPL Race 2 Open Tournament in Auckland.[5][8] Contributor identification confirms that the 2008, 2011 and 2013 records relate to the same team.
