2016 PALM Iran season

The 2016 PALM Iran season comprised four rounds of the Iranian PALM series. The organiser's calendar marks all four events as completed, with three listed in Tehran and one in Mazandaran. The final event was designated “Leg 4 & Championships”.[1]

A later Sorena team profile records third place overall in PALM 2016, although its text does not specify the division.[8]

Calendar

The surviving calendar and event-specific records contain differing dates. The following table distinguishes their published information.

Round	Location	Documented dates	Sources
Round 1	Tehran	Event coverage identifies 3–4 March 2016; calendar lists 2–4 March.	[1][2][3]
Round 2	Mahmudabad, Mazandaran	PALM Media identifies May 2016; calendar lists 11–13 July. Exact playing dates remain unconfirmed.	[1][4][5]
Round 3	Tehran	Calendar lists 27–29 September 2016. A contemporary field-layout post identifies the third round as September 2016; exact playing dates remain unconfirmed.	[1][6]
Round 4 and championships	Tehran	Advertised for 22–23 December 2016. The calendar instead prints an inconsistent February 2016 entry.	[1][7]

Season review

Opening round

PALM Media's opening-round video description identifies the competition dates as 3–4 March 2016.[2] Shahab Paintball Park's account gives the corresponding dates, 13–14 Esfand 1394, and identifies a temporary field at the Tehran Javan complex in Tehranpars as the venue.[3]

Second round

PALM Media's second-round video post identifies Mahmudabad, Mazandaran, and May 2016.[4] The organiser's Instagram account also published material tagged “leg2”, “may” and “2016” on 17 May.[5] These records differ from the July dates in the surviving calendar.[1]

Third round

PALM published the third-round field layout on 21 September 2016, explicitly identifying it as the layout for the September 2016 PALM Iran event.[6] The season calendar places the round in Tehran and marks it as completed.[1]

Fourth round

Iran Akay published a fourth-round field-layout announcement on 13 December 2016, advertising competition in Tehran on 2–3 Dey 1395 (22–23 December 2016).[7]

The organiser's calendar marks the fourth round and championships as completed, but prints “1-2-3 February/2016” for the event. This is inconsistent with the sequence of the preceding rounds and does not establish the actual playing dates.[1]

Documented overall placing

A Sorena profile published by coach.paintball.ir in December 2020 lists third place overall in PALM 2016 among the team's achievements.[8]

Team	Recorded overall position	Division	Source
Sorena	3rd	Not specified in the profile	[8]

This record does not establish a complete final classification or aggregate points table.

PALM also published posts explicitly labelled as 2016 rankings for Division 2 and Division 3.[9][10] Their captions identify the season and divisions but do not transcribe the placings.

Media coverage

Surviving PALM Media coverage includes an opening-round video identifying the March competition dates and a second-round video identifying Mahmudabad.[2][4] Contemporary field-layout posts survive for the third and fourth rounds.[6][7]
