2015 NXL Virginia Beach Open

From WikiPaintball

The 2015 NXL Virginia Beach Open was the second tournament of the revived National Xball League's inaugural season. It took place from 7–9 August 2015 at the Hunt Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. Edmonton Impact won the professional competition, defeating San Antonio X-Factor 5–4 in the final.[1][2][3]

The tournament was originally announced as the NXL Mid-Atlantic Open. Contemporary publicity retained that name, while the official event and results records identify it as the Virginia Beach Open.[1][4][5]

Naming and venue

[edit]

The NXL's initial 2015 calendar listed a Mid-Atlantic Open for 7–9 August, with its venue to be announced.[4]

On 19 June, Paintball Media reported that the league's second tournament would take place in Virginia Beach at the Hunt Club. A contemporary event listing titled “NXL Mid-Atlantic Open” subsequently gave the same dates and Hunt Club venue.[5][6]

The official registration record identifies the tournament as the Virginia Beach Open and gives the venue address as 2388 London Bridge Road, Virginia Beach.[1]
