2001 Dunedin Challenge

From WikiPaintball

2001 Dunedin Challenge was a limited-paint tournament organised by Brian Thornley in Dunedin, New Zealand. It was advertised for 4 November 2001 and aimed at South Island beginners and players seeking competition experience below Nationals level. Subsequent forum messages confirm that the event took place.[1][2]

Advertised format

[edit]

The announcement specified a maximum of four players per team, five-minute centre-flag games and an allowance of 200 paintballs per player per game. Bush play was advertised, with speedball dependent on player numbers.[1]

Entry was NZ$75 per team, including gas. Players were required to use field-supplied paintballs, advertised at ten cents per ball.[1]

Post-event reports

[edit]

A participant's message posted on 9 November thanked Thornley and the other competing teams. On 19 November, Thornley stated that computer problems had delayed publication of the results. Neither preserved discussion provides scores or final placings.[1][2]
