1992 United States paintball tournament results
This article summarises selected 1992 United States paintball tournament results recorded by ClassicScores outside its NPPL listings. The records cover events in California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas, with five-player and ten-player competitions. [1]
Recorded event winners
[edit]The table follows ClassicScores' event names and competition classifications. It covers the six United States events listed as independent for 1992 and does not represent a complete national tournament calendar. [1]
| Event | Recorded location | Competition | First place |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1992 Bay City Open | Northern California | Professional ten-player | Ironmen |
| 1992 Florida State Open | Oldsmar, Florida | Ten-player; division unspecified | Maniacs |
| 1992 International Masters | Nashville, Tennessee | Open five-player | Ironmen |
| 1992 Lone Star Open | Dallas, Texas | Open ten-player | Tour De Force |
| 1992 Music City Open | Nashville, Tennessee | Professional ten-player | All Americans |
| 1992 National Amateur Open | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | Amateur five-player | Maniac Predators |
| 1992 National Amateur Open | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | Amateur ten-player | Plague |
Contemporary corroboration
[edit]Action Pursuit Games reported that the International Masters was held at Hermitage Landing in the Nashville area and produced by Sam Caldwell and Jim Lively of Lively Productions. Its five-player competition was open to professionals and amateurs. Ironmen finished first, ahead of Florida Terminators, Bad Company and Farside. [2]
The same report identifies Maniac Predators as the National Amateur Open five-player winners, supporting that spelling rather than ClassicScores' “Manica Predators”. [1][2]
Source discrepancy
[edit]ClassicScores places Terminators second in the Music City Open professional ten-player results. A retrospective reproduced on Automags.org, attributed there to the June 2005 issue of Paintball 2Xtremes, instead lists Constant Pursuit as finishing second at the 1992 Music City Open. The accounts differ; the full ClassicScores placings and conflicting account are documented in 1992 Music City Open. [1][3]
