IWPL was the designation used for an Iranian national women's paintball league documented in contemporary reporting in 2018. Its second event included electronic-marker competition in a three-player format.[1][2]

Reports distinguished IWPL from Paintball for All (PFA), whose women's mechanical competitions were reported alongside it.[1]

Documented competition

[edit]

A Hamshahri report published on 16 December 2018 described the second IWPL event alongside the fourth women's PFA round. The combined programme took place in Tehran Province with support from Shahab Paintball Park.[1]

The report recorded eleven teams from Tehran, Qazvin and East Azerbaijan across the combined programme. It did not identify all eleven as IWPL entrants.[1]

Original PFA Media captions published on 1 December 2018 explicitly identified the second IWPL event as an electronic-marker competition. Separate podium captions named Datis first, Griffin second and Ariaman third.[2][3][4][5]

Second-event results

[edit]

Hamshahri published the following electronic three-player placings:[1]

Position Team
1st Datis
2nd Griffin
3rd Ariaman
4th Kartal

The top three are independently confirmed by the contemporary PFA Media captions. These are second-event results rather than overall season standings.[2][3][4][5]

The sources differ on Griffin's provincial attribution: Hamshahri identifies the team with Qazvin, while PFA Media identifies it with Tehran. Both give Griffin second place.[1][4]

Relationship to PFA

[edit]

The contemporary report identifies two competitions: the fourth women's PFA round and the second IWPL event. Its mechanical three-player and individual results are reported separately from the electronic three-player results.[1]

PFA Media likewise labels the electronic podium as IWPL while identifying the mechanical competition as PFA. The publication of both competitions through the same media channel does not establish that their standings were combined.[2]
