2015 PSP World Cup

The 2015 PSP World Cup was a cancelled Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) tournament scheduled for 15–18 October 2015 at Fantasy of Flight in Polk City, Florida, United States. It was announced as the fifth and final event of PSP's 2015 national season, but did not take place following the suspension of the series.[1][2]

The 2015 NXL World Cup, which took place on the same competition dates in Kissimmee, was organised by the revived National Xball League at a different venue.[2][3]

Scheduled dates and venue

PSP's announced calendar listed World Cup for 15–18 October 2015 at Fantasy of Flight, 1400 Broadway Boulevard Southeast, Polk City, Florida. It was scheduled to follow the 2015 PSP Chicago Open.[1]

Cancellation

On 1 May 2015, Paintball Media reported that PSP had apparently suspended its season. The planned PSP World Cup consequently did not take place.[2]

The same report announced a separate NXL World Cup for 15–18 October, initially describing its venue as to be confirmed in the Orlando area.[2]

Distinction from the NXL World Cup

The NXL World Cup subsequently took place in Kissimmee. Its official event record gives the competition dates as 15–18 October 2015 and the venue address as 6000 West Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee.[3]

Although the two calendars used the same competition dates and World Cup name, the announced PSP tournament at Fantasy of Flight and the NXL tournament in Kissimmee were separate events. Results from the NXL competition belong to the 2015 NXL World Cup.[1][3]
