2015 PSP Chicago Open

From WikiPaintball

The 2015 PSP Chicago Open was a cancelled Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) tournament scheduled for 7–9 August 2015 at CPX Sports in Joliet, Illinois, United States. It was announced as the fourth event of PSP's five-event national season, but did not take place following the suspension of the series.[1][2]

Scheduled dates and venue

[edit]

PSP's announced calendar listed the Chicago Open for 7–9 August 2015 at CPX Sports Park, 2903 Schweitzer Road, Joliet, Illinois. Despite the tournament's Chicago title, its scheduled venue was in Joliet.[1]

The calendar placed Chicago after the 2015 PSP Mid-Atlantic Open and before the 2015 PSP World Cup. It moved the Chicago tournament from its customary June position to August, with the Mid-Atlantic Open taking the June slot.[1][3]

Cancellation

[edit]

On 1 May 2015, Paintball Media reported that PSP had apparently suspended its season. The planned August Chicago tournament consequently did not take place.[2]

The revived National Xball League announced a separate three-event programme for 2015. Its Mid-Atlantic Open was scheduled for 7–9 August, the same dates originally announced for PSP's Chicago Open. That NXL competition was a separate event.[2]
