The 2005 PSP Northeast Open was the fourth tournament of the 2005 Paintball Sports Promotions season, held from 11–14 August at the Turner Valley Complex in Pennsylvania. It featured divisional X-Ball, five-man competition and the concluding regular-season matches of the NXL.[1][2]

Venue

[edit]

The tournament moved from Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, its 2004 venue, to the Turner Valley Complex near Pittsburgh. A conflicting golf tournament meant insufficient accommodation was available near Nemacolin for the paintball event.[1]

NXL competition

[edit]

The event concluded NXL regular-season play, determining rankings for the World Cup playoffs. Boston Red Legion won the Eastern Conference title and the Commissioner's Cup, awarded to the highest-ranked regular-season team. Oakland Assassins won the Western Conference.[1]

Oakland defeated Baltimore Trauma 8–7 on Sunday. Boston then beat Chicago Aftershock 13–8, confirming Oakland's Western Conference title ahead of Chicago.[1]
