2002 Auckland 5-Man Tournament was a five-player paintball tournament held on 26 October 2002 at Actions Paintball in Swanson, Auckland, New Zealand. Seven teams competed, with Katipo winning ahead of Kaos and Havoc.[1]

Background

[edit]

The tournament had originally been intended as the New Zealand Paintball Nationals. According to the contemporary report, conflicting events drew teams away, making the planned Nationals unviable. The smaller competition proceeded under the Auckland 5-Man name on the first day of Labour Weekend.[1]

Format

[edit]

Competition used a double round robin with a central flag. Games took place on a single barricade field that had been used for previous Nationals tournaments. Some barricades were repositioned during the event while maintaining the field's symmetry.[1]

Results

[edit]

The published final scores were:[1]

Position Team Points
1 Katipo 815
2 Kaos 750
3 Havoc 540
4 Kamo Karzi 525
5 Goblins 365
6 HSR 275
7 Solidaire 100

Award

[edit]

Toby of HSR received the Player of the Day award and a NeoTech three-pod harness supplied by NZ Paintball Online. The report did not provide his surname.[1]
