2004 Auckland Queen’s Birthday Superball was a paintball tournament held at Kumeu, Auckland, over the Saturday and Sunday of Queen’s Birthday weekend in 2004. Thirteen teams competed. Evil Factory (NZ) won the Cup competition, while HSR won the Plate.[1]

Organisation and format

Matt Storey and Neil Bell organised the tournament, which was sanctioned by the New Zealand Paintball Players Association and followed Millennium Series rules. Competition took place on two airball fields at the Kumeu venue used for the regular Super 5s series.[1]

Teams attended from Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and the South Island. Rain and strong winds affected play, with the fields becoming increasingly muddy during the second day.[1]

The preliminary competition used a round-robin format, with accumulated points determining qualification for the Cup and Plate competitions. Semi-final results were determined by wins, with individual game scores used to resolve ties.[1]

Saints, Evil Factory (NZ), Raiderz and Sleazy Weasel qualified for the Cup competition.[1]

No fourth game was played: Evil Factory won on a countback of game points, with its flag pull and hang in the second game providing the advantage.[1]
