2006 Super 5s (New Zealand) was the 2006 season of the Super 5s, a New Zealand five-player tournament paintball series held in the Auckland region.

The championship featured two divisions, with teams accumulating points across multiple rounds. Menace won Division 1, while Legion won Division 2.[1]

Season

Archived tournament discussions document rounds during 2006, including events in March, April, May, June, July, August, September and October.[2]

The season concluded on 3 December 2006. The final round had been rescheduled because of a clash with the Big Boys Toys paintball tournament.[3]

The finale included a prizegiving for the leading teams in each division.

Historical notes

The 2006 season was won by Menace in Division 1, with Legion finishing first in Division 2.

The contemporary final-round announcement described Cutthroats and Sinista as teams that had started during 2006.[3]

Cutthroats subsequently competed under the name Nemisis in 2007, as documented in contemporary tournament announcements.[4]

Legion competed in Division 1 during the 2007 Super 5s season, following its 2006 Division 2 championship.[5]

Records and limitations

The complete final championship standings and December round results survive, but results for several earlier rounds have not yet been recovered.

Contemporary forum indexes identify individual results discussions for earlier events in 2006. Their titles establish the existence of those discussions but do not independently verify the scores.

The December report does not identify every participant, the complete event calendar or the venues used throughout the season.
