Keely Watson is a competitive paintball player, photographer and tournament administrator associated with Femmes Fatale, The Family and Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP). Her work in paintball has included tournament participation, magazine photography, press and sponsor relations, and event planning.[1][2][3]

Playing career

[edit]

Contemporary tournament reporting identifies Watson with both The Family and Femmes Fatale in 2002. WARPIG's coverage of that year's Las Vegas tournament named both teams when reporting her involvement in paintball media.[1]

She was also identified as a Femmes Fatale player in WARPIG's coverage of the 2002 Aruba tournament.[4]

By the beginning of the 2005 season, Watson had reduced her tournament-playing schedule to take on press and sponsor relations responsibilities at PSP.[2]

Paintball media

[edit]

In spring 2002, Watson joined the photographic staff of P8NT magazine. Her appointment formed part of an expansion that also brought Matty Marshall into the publication's West Coast editorial coverage.[1]

Watson was later included among the real paintball players featured in the video game Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball MAX'D. Activision's October 2005 launch announcement named her alongside Chris LaSoya and Greg Hastings among the game's featured players.[5]

Paintball Sports Promotions

[edit]

Watson coordinated press and sponsor relations for PSP during the 2005 season. Contemporary coverage described her move into the role after graduating from college and stepping back from her previous playing schedule.[2]

Her responsibilities also extended to event planning. In autumn 2005, Watson and Lane Wright investigated potential venues for PSP's expanded 2006 tournament calendar. Their work included attending a national conference where city representatives presented their facilities to event promoters.[3]

The resulting schedule included a tournament in Round Rock, Texas, as PSP expanded from five events in 2005 to six in 2006.[3]
