Paintball Shop is a New Zealand paintball equipment retailer operating through paintballshop.co.nz. Launched by Nexa New Zealand Limited in March 2007, the store has subsequently operated under other companies. Its current website identifies the operator as Paintball Shop (2023) Limited, based in Auckland.[1][2]

History

Nexa origins

Nexa New Zealand Limited announced the launch of paintballshop.co.nz in March 2007. The announcement described a dedicated online store carrying paintball equipment held in stock. An archived version of the store from 18 October 2007 names Nexa New Zealand Limited as its operator.[1][3]

The early catalogue included markers, masks, air systems, paintballs, teamwear, loaders, harnesses, bunkers and spare parts.[3]

Paintballshop Limited

Paintballshop Limited, company number 2105323, was incorporated on 17 March 2008. The Companies Register lists Laurence Pope as a director appointed on that date. The company was renamed Edge Imports Limited on 11 November 2008 and Guns Direct Limited on 27 March 2013.[4][5]

A website capture dated 19 December 2008 retained Paintballshop Limited in its footer. The store described an online and direct-sales operation using two warehouses, without a retail shop. It listed Kingman, Tippmann, BT, VForce, Draxxus and Smart Parts among the brands for which it acted as an authorised New Zealand agent.[6]

Albany and Rotorua premises

By January 2015, the website advertised premises at Unit E, 238 Bush Road, Albany, Auckland.[7]

By 21 January 2022, the website stated that the business was located in Rotorua, with goods available for collection by arrangement.[12]

Paintball Shop (2023) Limited

Paintball Shop (2023) Limited, company number 8824129, was incorporated on 18 July 2023. Amy Gardiner and Jeremy Gardiner were appointed directors on that date. The company's shareholding record lists each as holding 50 of its 100 shares.[8][9][10]

As of October 2026, the store's contact page identifies Paintball Shop (2023) Limited as its operator. It describes an Auckland warehouse operation without a retail outlet, with collections and viewing available by appointment.[2]

Products

The store supplies paintball markers, ammunition, masks, air systems, loaders, clothing, protective equipment and replacement parts. Its catalogue also includes airsoft equipment.[11]
