UWL Malaysia

From WikiPaintball

UWL Malaysia is the Malaysian competition associated with the international Ultimate Woodsball League (UWL). Malaysian teams appear in the international organiser's published 2010 world rankings, while contemporary Malaysian sources document a local tournament programme and adapted rules.[1][2][3]

History

[edit]

A historical account published by the Malaysia Woodsball League organiser described the introduction of UWL competition to Malaysia in 2010 through Delta Paintball, working with Tanamera Paintball Park, Mudtrekker Paintball Park and Paintball Breeder. The account stated that three rounds were held during the first year.[2]

A March 2010 press release reproduced by Seburo identified Furious Paintball's Matthew Nekvapil as working with UWL to organise a Malaysian tournament series.[4]

On 10 April 2010, Jahang River Paintball published Malaysian UWL rules and announced plans to enter a team at Tanamera. A subsequent announcement, published on 21 July, advertised a second event at Paintball Valley for 31 July 2010.[3][5]

Format

[edit]

The Malaysian rules published in April 2010 described a ten-player woodsball game lasting thirty minutes, divided into three ten-minute periods. Eliminated players could re-enter at the ten-minute intervals.[3]

Teams scored by capturing objectives and bases. The rules provided Open and Tactical divisions and assigned players roles including captain, scout, heavy gunner and sniper, with equipment restrictions varying by role.[3]
