Sunshiro
Sunshiro was a Malaysian tournament paintball team associated with Pahang. The team won the Division 3 overall championship of the 2008 Malaysian National Paintball League (MY-NPL), after winning two consecutive events during the season.[1][2]
Sunshiro subsequently competed in the Amateur division of the 2009 International Super Seven Championship and in MY-NPL Division 2.[3][4]
Competitive history
[edit]2008 MY-NPL season
[edit]Sunshiro competed in Division 3 of the 2008 Malaysian National Paintball League. Its result at the opening event has not been established from the available records.
At the second event, held in Kuantan on 26 and 27 April, Sunshiro won Division 3 ahead of Cobra Mercenaries, D'Mercy Kidz and Ronin Lunacy.[1]
The team won again at the third event, held at the Malaysian Paintball Academy in Petaling Jaya on 31 May and 1 June. Sunshiro defeated Ronin Lunacy in the final, while Cobra Mercenaries placed third and Raz Legion fourth.[2][5] Following the event, Sunshiro led the Division 3 standings with 134 points, two points ahead of Cobra Mercenaries.[5]
Sunshiro placed sixth in the Amateur/Novice division of the Sultan of Kedah Cup 2008.[6] It then placed fourth at the fourth MY-NPL event in Malacca, behind Oscar Legio-X, Ronin Lunacy and Cobra Mercenaries.[7]
At the November season finale, Sunshiro again placed fourth, behind Warrior, CMX and Ronin Lunacy. Despite that event result, the accumulated season standings confirmed Sunshiro as the 2008 MY-NPL Division 3 overall champion.[8]
2009 season
[edit]On 1–3 May 2009, Sunshiro placed third in the Amateur division of the International Super Seven Championship in Petaling Jaya. Lemon Ruski won the division, followed by No Mercy in second place, with Project Legio-X Wonderpets fourth.[3]
Sunshiro competed in MY-NPL Division 2 during 2009. A league report described its appearance at the third event in Kuantan as a return to MY-NPL competition.[4] A participant account records Sunshiro defeating Oscar Legio-X during the preliminary stage of that event, but Sunshiro did not place among the published leading four teams.[9]
No complete roster, organisational history or subsequent competition record has been located.
