Persian Legend (Iran Paintball Team)
Persian Legend, also referred to as Persian Legends, is an Iranian tournament paintball team documented in domestic league competition during the late 2000s and early 2010s. Contemporary reporting records the team reaching an Iranian league event final against Datis in early 2010.[1][2]
History
[edit]Iranian league competition
[edit]A contemporary account reproduced on the pbhub forum in June 2010 listed Persian Legend among eight professional-division teams in the 2009 Iran National Paintball League (INPL). It described Persian Legend as second in the overall standings, behind Datis and ahead of Datis Two.[2]
An interview originally published by ProPaintball.com on 9 March 2010 reported that Datis had defeated Persian Legend at the fourth and final event of the preceding Iranian league season. The interview also identified Persian Legends as a domestic Division 1 competitor.[1]
Numbered entries in 2011
[edit]The Iran Paintball Association recorded two numbered Persian Legend entries at the Babolsar national league event held from 14 to 16 December 2011.[3]
In the men's first division, Persian Legend Two finished third behind Datis and Hype. Persian Legend One finished seventh. These were separate entries in the published results and should not be combined into a single placing.[3]
Competition in 2012
[edit]A Datis website report dated 17 February 2012 recorded Hype defeating Persian Legend in the knockout phase of the final INPL event of the Iranian year 1390. Hype subsequently faced Datis in the final.[4]
International competition
[edit]The March 2010 ProPaintball.com report stated that Persian Legend and Datis were in Thailand for the Pattaya International Paintball Tournament, the opening PALS event scheduled for 12–13 March. Both were identified as Division 1 entries.[1]
That report establishes the team's announced participation but does not provide its final tournament placing.
