Maltese Paintball Beyond Malta

[edit]

Maltese players and teams have participated in paintball activities and competitions outside the country, particularly in Europe.

International competition, overseas training and connections with foreign teams have contributed to the development of competitive paintball in Malta.

The wider Maltese community also includes players of Maltese heritage living overseas, some of whom maintain connections with the sport in Malta.

WikiPaintball aims to document these international connections, including Maltese participation in overseas tournaments, collaborations with foreign teams and the contributions of the Maltese diaspora.

Relevant articles can be found through the team, tournament and people categories above.

Help Preserve Maltese Paintball History

[edit]

Do you remember a team, tournament or paintball field that deserves to be documented?

Many important parts of Maltese paintball history were never formally recorded.

Commercial fields have closed, clubs have changed or disappeared, websites have gone offline, and photographs and tournament results have been lost.

Some of the most valuable historical information survives only in the memories and personal collections of former players, field operators, event organisers and other members of the paintball community.

We're particularly interested in:

  • Historical photographs, videos and tournament footage
  • Tournament results, team rosters and event programmes
  • Information about former paintball fields and businesses
  • The formation and development of local teams and clubs
  • Newspaper articles, websites and historical advertisements
  • Personal recollections from players, referees, organisers and field operators
  • Records of Maltese participation in international tournaments

Firsthand memories are especially valuable when they help identify people, locations and events in surviving historical material.

Where possible, WikiPaintball aims to distinguish historical recollections from information independently verified through contemporary sources.

Even a small contribution can help recover a forgotten part of Malta's paintball history.

About This Collection

[edit]

Malta is one of the first countries being documented by WikiPaintball because of the project's existing knowledge, historical material and connections within the Maltese paintball community.

The collection covers both Malta and Gozo, including recreational paintball, competitive teams, commercial operators, sporting organisations and international participation.

This is an independent historical project, separate from any particular paintball club, governing body or commercial operator.

The collection is a work in progress.

Some subjects have substantial surviving documentation, while others are known only through photographs, archived web pages, social media posts or personal recollections.

As new information becomes available, articles can be expanded, corrected and supported by additional references.

Our aim is to build a lasting historical record recognising everyone who contributed to the development of paintball in the Maltese Islands.
