Geographic and Political Considerations
Asia's boundaries and regional classifications are not universally defined, particularly around the Caucasus, the Ural Mountains and the boundary between Europe and Asia.
For historical completeness, WikiPaintball includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Türkiye in both its Asian and European navigation where appropriate.
Some of these countries have territory in both continents, while others have geographic, cultural or sporting connections that cross conventional regional boundaries.
Hong Kong and Macau are listed separately as special administrative regions of China to make their local paintball histories easier to discover.
Taiwan is included as a separate geographic navigation entry to support documentation of its paintball community. This directory does not take a position on questions of sovereignty or international recognition.
Palestine is likewise included as a geographic entry to support the documentation of paintball activity in the Palestinian territories.
These classifications are intended for historical research and navigation rather than political purposes.

Historical Records and Resources
Asian paintball history has been documented through tournament websites, regional magazines, online forums, photographs, videos, equipment catalogues and social media communities.
International competition has produced valuable records of teams, players and organisations from across the continent.
However, many historical sources have become difficult to access.
Tournament websites have disappeared, leagues have ceased operating, businesses have closed and online communities have migrated between platforms.
Historical material is also scattered across numerous languages, making it difficult to reconstruct the history of individual teams, events and organisations.
WikiPaintball aims to identify, preserve and reference these materials wherever possible.

Asian Paintball and the World
Asia has played an important role in the international growth of competitive paintball.
Regional tournament series have brought together players and teams from numerous countries, creating opportunities for international competition and the exchange of experience.
Competitions such as the Paintball Asia League Series (PALS) helped connect teams across Southeast Asia and the wider international paintball community.
Other international competitions, including national championships and regional tournament series, have contributed to the development of competitive paintball throughout the continent.
Asian players and teams have travelled internationally to compete in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, while visiting professional players, coaches, referees and organisers have supported events and training activities in Asia.
Asian equipment manufacturers and businesses have also contributed to the international paintball industry through the production and distribution of markers, protective equipment, clothing, accessories and related products.
WikiPaintball aims to document these international connections alongside the domestic histories of individual countries.
Relevant articles can be found through the team, tournament, organisation and people categories above.
Help Preserve Asian Paintball History
Were you part of the early Asian paintball scene? Do you remember a team, tournament or playing field that deserves to be documented?
Much of Asia's paintball history is at risk of being lost.
Historic playing fields have closed, teams have disbanded, tournaments have disappeared from the calendar and once-popular websites, forums and social media communities have gone offline.
Many important tournament results, photographs, videos and stories survive only in private collections or the memories of former players, organisers and industry professionals.
We're particularly interested in:
- Historical photographs, videos and tournament footage
- Tournament results, team rosters and event programmes
- Information about former paintball fields, teams and businesses
- The history of national associations, leagues and international competitions
- Asian paintball equipment manufacturers and technical innovations
- Historical magazines, advertisements, websites and forum archives
- Personal recollections from players, referees, coaches, organisers and industry professionals
- Records of Asian teams and players competing internationally
Historical material in any Asian language is welcome.
Firsthand memories are especially valuable when they help identify people, locations and events in surviving historical records.
Where possible, WikiPaintball aims to distinguish historical recollections from information independently verified through contemporary sources.
Even a small contribution can help recover a forgotten part of Asian paintball history.
About This Collection
Asia is a major part of WikiPaintball's long-term goal of documenting paintball history around the world.
The collection covers countries and territories across East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia and Western Asia, including recreational paintball, competitive teams, national and international tournaments, sporting organisations, commercial operators, equipment manufacturers and international participation.
Countries with geographic or sporting connections to both Europe and Asia may appear in both continental collections.
WikiPaintball is an independent historical preservation project, separate from any particular commercial paintball company, manufacturer, league or governing body.
The collection is a work in progress.
Some subjects have extensive surviving documentation, while others are known only through photographs, archived websites, tournament records or personal recollections.
As new information becomes available, articles can be expanded, corrected and supported by additional references.
Our aim is to build a lasting historical record recognising everyone who contributed to the development of paintball across Asia.
