Outlaws (New Zealand Paintball Team)
Outlaws was a Nelson-associated New Zealand tournament paintball team documented competing during 2007 and 2008. The team won Division Two at the 2007 Christchurch X-ball Tournament and finished seventh overall at the 2008 Wellington Easter Tournament.[1][2]
The New Zealand Outlaws team was unrelated to overseas paintball teams using the same name.
History
[edit]2007
[edit]Outlaws competed in the second division of the 2007 Christchurch X-ball Tournament in September 2007. A contemporary post-event account reported that Outlaws won the division.[1]
The surviving report does not provide the team's score or roster.
2008
[edit]Outlaws competed at the 2008 Wellington Easter Tournament, held at Grenada North Soccer Field on 22–23 March. The team recorded a provisional preliminary score of 550 and finished seventh overall among thirteen entries.[2]
The published results also labelled Outlaws as “3rd place pro”. The same post labelled Splinter, which finished third overall, as third in the Professional division. With both teams assigned the same divisional placing, the surviving source does not establish a consistent Professional division podium.[2]
In his post-event acknowledgement, organiser Ants identified Mark from Nelson with Outlaws and thanked him for transporting team tents, referee tops and field equipment to the tournament.[3] The source does not provide Mark's surname or establish a complete team roster.
