Mischief Militia (New Zealand Paintball Team)
Mischief Militia was a New Zealand tournament paintball team based in Auckland. The team competed under the shortened name Mischief during the 2013 New Zealand Paintball Players League season and subsequently appeared in NZPPL and South Auckland Paintball Club competitions through early 2015.[1][2]
History
[edit]2012 registration
[edit]Mischief Militia appeared on the registration list for the third event of the 2012 NZPPL Super 5 Man Series, advertised for 20–21 October on the Kāpiti Coast.[1]
The registration confirms that an entry was submitted under the Mischief Militia name. No result from the event has been recovered, so the registration is not treated as proof that the team competed.
2013 NZPPL season
[edit]The team competed under the shortened published name Mischief at the second event of the 2013 NZPPL Super 5 Man Series. The tournament was held at Adrenalin Paintball Sports in Paraparaumu on 1–2 June.[2]
Mischief finished thirteenth at the event. The interim standings published after the first two rounds placed the team sixteenth overall. The shortened name is treated as an event spelling of Mischief Militia rather than a separate team.
2014 SAPC Race Series
[edit]Mischief Militia competed in all three documented rounds of the 2014 SAPC Open X-Ball Race Series at Asylum Paintball in Kingseat, Auckland.[3][4]
The team finished:
- Sixth of six at the February Race event on 8–9 February.
- Seventh of eight at the May Race event on 3–4 May.
- Seventh of seven at the July Race event on 12–13 July.
Mischief Militia finished sixth in the published 2014 SAPC Open X-Ball season standings with 30 ranking points.[4]
2014 NZPPL competition
[edit]Mischief Militia competed in the Pro X-Ball division at the NZPPL Race 2-4 Event 2 tournament at Asylum Paintball on 30–31 August 2014. The team finished sixth of six entries.[3][5]
On 25–26 October, Mischief Militia entered Division 1 X-Ball at the 2014 NZPPL International Pacific Championship. It finished seventh of eight teams.[3][6]
The team's recorded matches at the International Pacific Championship included a 4–0 victory over Australian team South East Cartel and a 3–3 draw with CamoMeat.[7]
2015 season
[edit]Mischief Militia returned to the SAPC Open X-Ball competition on 31 January–1 February 2015. It finished eighth of eight teams at the opening event of the season.[3][8]
This is the latest appearance shown in the recovered PBLeagues team history. The absence of a later result does not establish when the team ceased competing.
