Kamikaze Knights (New Zealand Paintball Team)
Kamikaze Knights was a Christchurch-based New Zealand tournament paintball team documented in the New Zealand Paintball Players League during 2014. The team placed fourth in Pro X-Ball at the second NZPPL RaceTo event and third in Division 1 X-Ball at the 2014 NZPPL International Pacific Championship.[1][2]
History
[edit]Kamikaze Knights registered with PBLeagues on 11 July 2014, listing Christchurch as its home town.[1]
The team's first confirmed tournament appearance was the NZPPL Race 2-4 Event 2, held at Asylum Paintball in Kingseat on 30–31 August 2014. Kamikaze Knights competed in the six-team Pro X-Ball division and finished fourth, behind ADHD, Trauma and The Wild Bunch.[2][3]
Kamikaze Knights subsequently entered the Division 1 X-Ball competition at the 2014 NZPPL International Pacific Championship, held at Asylum Paintball on 25–26 October. The division included eight teams from New Zealand, Australia and French Polynesia.[2][4]
Kamikaze Knights finished third, behind Trauma and Legacy NZ. The team placed ahead of Phoenix Tahiti, South East Cartel, Low Gear, Mischief Militia and CamoMeat.[2]
The NZPPL season rankings list Kamikaze Knights as unplaced in the final Pro X-Ball standings because the team moved to another division during the season.[2]
