2018 NXL Australia Queensland Round 1
2018 NXL Australia Queensland Round 1 was a NXL Australia paintball tournament held on 10–11 February 2018 at Tactical Ops Paintball in Queensland, Australia. The organiser's calendar advertised these dates, while contemporary reports document Saturday competition, Sunday matches and a completed final.[1][2][3]
Date and venue
[edit]The official Queensland calendar scheduled Round 1 for 10–11 February 2018 at Tactical Ops Paintball. The next scheduled Queensland event was Round 2 on 19–20 May.[1]
A GC Blade post published on 11 February described Saturday preliminary-round action at Tactical Ops during the opening 2018 Queensland NXL round.[3]
Competition
[edit]In a report published by DYE Paintball on 13 March 2018, Nathan “Macca” McDonnell described competing with nVs across both days.[2]
On Saturday, nVs defeated Calvert Valour 4–1 and One Life 5–1, and also recorded wins against Mungers and Blade. Sunday wins against Eastside Raw and Hillbillies left nVs undefeated through six preliminary matches. They then defeated Calvert Valour in the final.[2]
Verified results
[edit]| Competition identified by source | Placing | Team |
|---|---|---|
| nVs–Calvert Valour final; division not specified | 1 | nVs |
| 2 | Calvert Valour | |
| Semi-Pro | 3 | Renegades |
The nVs and Calvert Valour placings are documented in McDonnell's report. It does not identify their division or give the final's score.[2]
A MacDev sponsorship announcement reproduced by Renegades separately records the team's third place in “NXL Semi-Pro QLD 2018 Series Round 1”. The sources do not establish that this was the same division as the nVs–Calvert Valour final.[4]
