2018 NXL Atlantic City Open

From WikiPaintball

The 2018 NXL Atlantic City Open was a National Xball League (NXL) paintball tournament held from 22 to 24 June 2018 at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States. It was the third event on the league's United States national calendar.[1]

Edmonton Impact won the professional tournament, defeating ac Dallas 5–2 in the final.[2]

Dates and venue

[edit]

Competition took place at Bader Field, 545 North Albany Avenue, Atlantic City, from Friday, 22 June, to Sunday, 24 June 2018.[1]

Social Paintball's contemporary highlight coverage independently identifies Bader Field as the venue.[3]

Competition formats

[edit]

The 20-team professional division was advertised as 15-minute X-Ball with a six-point mercy rule. Semi-Pro and Division 2 used 15-minute games with a five-point mercy rule. Divisions 3 and 4 used 12-minute games with a four-point mercy rule.[1]

Traditional five-player competition was offered in Divisions 3, 4 and 5, alongside Open Mechanical five-player. Five-player games were listed with five-minute game times.[1]

Open and Amateur ten-player divisions were listed with ten-minute game times. Open and Amateur three-player divisions had three-minute game times. No two-player or pump competition appears in the event's registration or final results records.[1][4]

Open ten-player and Open Mechanical each had one registered entrant. Their published first-place listings should therefore be distinguished from victories in contested divisions.[1][4]

Impact then defeated Houston Heat 3–2 in the quarter-finals and San Antonio X-Factor 3–1 in the semi-finals. In the final, Impact defeated ac Dallas 5–2.[2]
