2017 NXL Atlantic City Open

From WikiPaintball

The 2017 NXL Atlantic City Open was a National Xball League (NXL) paintball tournament held from 23 to 25 June 2017 at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States. It followed the 2017 NXL Texas Open on the league's national calendar.[1]

Moscow Red Legion won the professional tournament, defeating Tampa Bay Damage 4–3 in the final. MLKings won the Semi-Pro division.[2][3]

Dates and venue

[edit]

Competition took place at Bader Field, 545 North Albany Avenue, Atlantic City, from Friday, 23 June, to Sunday, 25 June 2017.[1]

Competition formats

[edit]

Professional, Semi-Pro and Division 2–4 X-Ball were advertised with 16-minute game times. Traditional five-player competition was offered in Divisions 3, 4 and 5, with five-minute game times.[1]

The event also included Open ten-player and mechanical five-player competition. Ten-player games were listed with ten-minute game times. Although advertised as Mechanical Open, the mechanical competition was classified as Intermediate in the official results.[1][4]

Amateur and Novice two-player competitions were advertised with three-minute game times. Their records were maintained separately through the NXL 2vs2 Series.[1][5]

Professional competition

Moscow Red Legion began with a 4–3 preliminary defeat to Los Angeles Infamous before defeating Seattle Thunder, P.C. Katana and Houston Heat.[2]
