2013 NPPL Chicago Open
The 2013 NPPL Chicago Open, promoted as the Windy City Open, was a National Professional Paintball League tournament held from 9–11 August 2013 at Paintball Explosion in Dundee, Illinois, United States. Organised by PB Promotions, it was the third major event of the 2013 NPPL season.[1][2]
Fort Wayne Outlaws won the professional division, ahead of New England Avalanche, Portland Uprising and San Francisco Explicit.[3]
Title and venue
[edit]The NPPL's official event page used the title Windy City Open, while its calendar described the tournament as the 2013 NPPL Chicago Open.[1][2]
The venue was Paintball Explosion in Dundee, rather than within Chicago. The official listing scheduled the event from 8 am on Friday, 9 August, until 5 pm on Sunday, 11 August.[1]
Competition formats
[edit]Professional and semi-professional teams competed in seven-player S7 race-format competition. Divisions 2, 3 and 4 used traditional seven-player formats.[1]
The event also offered traditional five-player Division 4 competition and a three-player centre-flag Young Guns division for players aged 10–15. Both were scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.[1]
