2012 INPL season

From WikiPaintball

The 2012 INPL season covers the Iran National Paintball League programme for the Iranian calendar year 1391. A women's opening round took place in Tehran on 17 May 2012, with Datis Alborz finishing first. The proposed men's opening round was cancelled amid insufficient entries and financial difficulties.[1][2]

The 1390 championship finals held earlier in calendar year 2012 belonged to the preceding season and are separate from this programme.[3]

Women's competition

[edit]

Opening round

[edit]

2012 INPL Women's Round 1 took place in Tehran on 17 May 2012 (28 Ordibehesht 1391). Seven teams represented Tehran, Alborz, Qazvin, Isfahan and East Azerbaijan.[1]

Position Team Province
1st Datis Alborz Alborz
2nd Javidan Tehran Tehran
3rd Titan Qazvin Qazvin
4th Artemis Isfahan Isfahan

The association and contemporary Mehr reporting agree on the leading four teams.[1][4]

The association also listed Javidan Two Tehran, East Azerbaijan and Takavaran Isfahan. Mehr reported Javidan Two and East Azerbaijan jointly fifth and omitted Takavaran, leaving the lower placings unresolved.[1][4]

The association explicitly identified this event as the first women's round of 1391, although Mehr described it as the second women's league competition.[1][4]

Proposed second round

[edit]

The association scheduled a second women's round for 6 September 2012 (16 Shahrivar 1391) at Saital Paintball Club in Vilashahr, Najafabad, Isfahan Province. Teams were required to register through the association's website, with accommodation arrangements available through the provincial Sport for All board.[5]

The recovered record is an announcement. Completion and results of this proposed round have not been verified.[5]

Men's programme

[edit]

Initial proposal

[edit]

The association initially announced the men's opening round for 29–31 August 2012 (8–10 Shahrivar 1391) in Isfahan. The proposed venue was the former Sepahan football ground. The announcement made the event conditional on sufficient team registrations.[6]

A subsequent notice listed eight teams that had expressed interest: Datis, Diako, Amertat, Persian Gulf, Tornado, Arad, Zeytoon Karaj and Atlantis. It warned that the competition appeared unlikely to proceed on the announced dates. These were expressions of interest rather than a confirmed participating field.[7]

Revised programme and cancellation

[edit]

An updated notice identified Saital Paintball Club in Najafabad as the proposed venue. Its surviving text contains both 6 and 7 September as dates for the men's premier competition, alongside an explicit cancellation statement.[8]

The notice stated that entries had not reached the required number and that the association could not cover the event's costs. It also stated that insufficient second-division registrations prevented that division from being staged.[8]

A separate association letter confirmed cancellation of the men's opening round. It cited insufficient entries, rising paintball prices linked to exchange rates, operating costs and the absence of sponsors.[2]

Financial difficulties

[edit]

The association published a financial notice explaining that losses in previous years and current costs prevented it from staging the league under the existing arrangements.[9]

It set out projected income and expenditure and proposed higher entry fees and paintball prices as a possible way to cover costs. These were proposals rather than evidence that the cancelled competition subsequently took place.[9]

In its cancellation letter, the association suggested that private organisers might operate competitions under association supervision. It also proposed separate national competitions as a means of selecting players for training camps and international representation.[2]

Season results

[edit]

The verified competitive results are those of the opening women's round. The recovered sources do not establish a final women's championship table or a completed men's 1391 league championship.[1][2][5][8]

Datis Alborz's documented result is therefore recorded as a round victory rather than an overall season title.[1]
