2011 PSP Galveston Island Open
The 2011 PSP Galveston Island Open was the opening tournament of the 2011 Paintball Sports Promotions season. It took place from 11–13 March 2011 at Galveston Island Paintball, 9020 Stewart Road, Galveston, Texas. San Diego Dynasty won the professional competition, defeating Boston Red Legion 7–2 in the final. [1][2]
Event
[edit]The tournament was PSP's first season-opening event in Galveston. Competition began on Friday and continued through Sunday. [2]
Seven divisions competed: professional RaceTo-7, Division 1 and Division 2 RaceTo-5, Division 3 and Division 4 RaceTo-4, and Division 3 and Division 4 RaceTo-2. [1]
Professional competition
[edit]Ten professional teams competed in two preliminary groups, with each team playing four matches. The top four advanced directly to the semi-finals. Dynasty subsequently defeated Boston Red Legion 7–2 to win the tournament. [2]

Grad defeated Static 3–2 in the Division 2 final. D.C. Monstars secured third place with a 4–3 victory over Distortion. [2]
Revo won the Division 3 RaceTo-4 final 4–0 against LA Heat. PR1ME defeated Detroit Action 4–3 in the third-place match. [2]
