2010 Red Dynasty Rookie Challenge
The 2010 Red Dynasty Rookie Challenge was a four-player paintball tournament held on 31 January 2010 at Red Dynasty Paintball Park in Singapore. Six teams participated in the competition, which was organised for beginners entering competitive paintball. Heartbreakers won the final against Black Aces 2 following a one-on-one tie-break.[1][2]
Organisation and format
[edit]The tournament was organised by Red Dynasty Paintball Park and held on Field 3. Registration was restricted to rookie players aged 14 and above, with teams permitted to register four playing members and two reserves.[3]
Matches used a four-against-four hopperball format, with each player limited to 100 paintballs per game. Games had a five-minute time limit. Each team played five round-robin qualifying matches, with the leading four teams progressing to best-of-three semi-finals. Qualifying positions were determined using match points and elimination differences.[2]
Muhammad Fadzri Bin Abdul Rashid served as head referee.[2]
Competition
[edit]Raving Lunatics 1 led the qualifying stage with four wins and one defeat. Heartbreakers, Phobos and Deimos, and Black Aces 2 also qualified for the semi-finals.[1][2]
Heartbreakers defeated Phobos and Deimos in two consecutive semi-final games. Black Aces 2 defeated Raving Lunatics 1 in the other semi-final to reach the final.[2]
The finalists finished their three games with one win each and a draw. A one-on-one tie-break between Benjamin Leong of Heartbreakers and Timothy Joshua Chen of Black Aces 2 decided the championship. Leong won the tie-break for Heartbreakers.[1][2]
