2007 Northland Open
2007 Northland Open was a five-player paintball tournament held on 4 February 2007 at A Paintball Adventure, an indoor field in Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand. Eight teams competed, with Menace winning the Professional division and Sinista winning the Amateur division.[1][2]
Organisation and format
[edit]The tournament was announced on 7 January 2007. It was open to all teams and used an unlimited-paint format, with a round robin followed by finals. Entry was NZ$50 per player. The captains’ meeting was scheduled for 8.30 am, followed by play at 9 am.[1]
Advertised prizes included the Northland Open trophy for first place, the Raven Cup for second, medals for third, and individual awards for player of the day and move of the day.[1]

The results listed the second-place Amateur team as “Nemisis / Cut-throats”. In the pre-event discussion, a team member announced the change from Cut-throats to Nemisis, and the organiser subsequently used the new name in the entry list.[1][2]

Johnny received the move-of-the-day award for advancing down the field without paint. Wouter’s name, initially reported as “Vota”, was corrected in a subsequent reply.[2]
