1997 NPPL Pittsburgh Open
The 1997 NPPL Pittsburgh Open was a paintball tournament held in the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania during the National Professional Paintball League's 1997 season. Contemporary footage produced by Traumahead Sportz documented professional ten-man competition, player interviews and the closing ceremonies.[1]
Excerpts appeared in WARPIG's PigTV programme I Left My Paint in San Francisco.[1]
Competition coverage
[edit]Traumahead recorded on-field action from the tournament's professional ten-man games. WARPIG's programme description identifies these segments as excerpts from Traumahead's dedicated 1997 Pittsburgh tournament video.[1]
The production also included player interviews and a tour of the Smart Parts factory.[1]
Equipment demonstrations
[edit]The tournament coverage included Bill Gardner demonstrating the Shocker, described by WARPIG as an electropneumatic paintball marker.[1]
Traumahead's Pittsburgh video also featured Bob Long showing his new Delta Defiant marker.[1]
Closing ceremonies
[edit]WARPIG's description of the closing-ceremony footage records an announcement by NPPL president Tom Cole that two teams were being penalised for game fixing. The description does not identify the teams or specify the penalties.[1]
