2007 MXball
The 2007 MXball season was a Mexican paintball competition organised by MXball. Contemporary forum records preserve qualification information before finals announced for 16–17 June, while a later UNAM study reports Xtreme Planet as the winner of the June event.[1][2][3] No complete final season standings have been verified. A proposed second season was suspended in July because insufficient teams had entered.[4]
Competition and recovered dates
[edit]In a November 2008 account, the MXball promotion-staff account Takas@mxball3 described the league as using three-player X-Ball throughout 2007.[5]
The following dates appear in the recovered records. They do not constitute a complete calendar of every round.
| Dates | Event | Basis of the record |
|---|---|---|
| 17–18 February 2007 | First Round | Listed as the opening round in the later UNAM chronology |
| 17–18 March 2007 | Tepeji del Río–Nauticopa event | Listed as the second round in the later UNAM chronology |
| 16–17 June 2007 | Finals | Contemporary announcement; later study reports an outcome |
The February and March dates derive from Saraí Fuentes García's 2009 study.[3] The June finals notice, posted by aiba on LiveTheSport on 8 June 2007, named Xtreme Paintball at kilometre 11.5 on the Ajusco road as the venue.[2]
Recovered qualification records
[edit]On 8 June, aiba posted a correction titled Tabla de posiciones hasta la 4ta fecha, explaining that the league website's May standings had contained upload errors.[1]
The accompanying text identified three teams as already qualified:
| Group | Qualified team |
|---|---|
| A | DF Traffic |
| B | Seccion 8 |
| C | Xtreme Planet |
Three places remained undecided. The post named Raxxas, Heaven and Hell, Fearless, Black Mamba, Antrax and Pintura Fresca as the teams still contesting them.[1]
These records describe qualification before the finals. They do not establish a complete list of finalists or final finishing positions. The numerical standings image accompanying the post has not been recovered.
Reported finals outcome and final standings
[edit]Fuentes García's study lists the Mexico City event on 16–17 June and states that Xtreme Planet won.[3] This is a later secondary report of an event outcome, distinct from the contemporary qualification snapshot.
No contemporary final results table, complete season points table, runner-up or finals match scores has been verified. Xtreme Planet's reported June victory is therefore not presented as a reconstructed final season standings table.
Suspension of the proposed second season
[edit]On 4 July 2007, the LiveTheSport account Administrador announced registration for a second MXball season that year. The notice required at least ten paid teams by 7 July and stated that the competition would not proceed if that minimum was not reached.[4]
On 9 July, the administrator account KF announced that the proposed second season was suspended because of insufficient entries.[4] This documents the suspension of that proposed competition, rather than permanent dissolution of MXball.
