Diako is an Iranian tournament paintball team associated with the Datis organisation. It won Division 3 at the 2011 Paintball World Cup Asia in Langkawi, Malaysia, and subsequently won an Iranian national Division 2 competition, securing promotion to Division 1.[1][2]

Some contemporary English-language reporting spells the team's name Daiko. The Datis website's own results and player list use Diako.[1][3]

History

[edit]

World Cup Asia 2011

[edit]

Diako won Division 3 at World Cup Asia in Langkawi in November 2011. The published results placed Australia's Rogue Assassins second, the Philippines' Golden Dragons third and Australia's Tension fourth.[1]

The Datis website published the result on 18 November 2011 alongside separate player lists for Datis and Diako.[1]

A Bernama report reproduced by Villain Paintball independently recorded the Iranian Division 3 winner, using the spelling "Daiko".[3]

Iranian national competition

[edit]

The Iran Paintball Association recorded Diako finishing first in the men's second division at the Babolsar national league event held from 14 to 16 December 2011. Soheil finished second and Tornado third.[4]

On 27 February 2012, Planet Eclipse reported that Diako had won Division 2 at an INPL event and secured promotion to Division 1 for the following season. The report explicitly identified Diako as a Datis team.[2]

The same report recorded the Datis first team securing the overall INPL championship and Datis Girls winning the women's championship for the Iranian calendar year 1390.[2]

Players

[edit]

A Datis website post dated 18 November 2011 listed the following Diako players. Spellings and numbers reproduce the published team list; it has not been independently established as the tournament's official registration roster.[1]
