2012 PSP Mid-Atlantic Open
The 2012 PSP Mid-Atlantic Open was a Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) tournament held from 10–12 August 2012 at Outdoor Xtreme Chesapeake City (OXCC) in Chesapeake City, Maryland, United States. It was the fourth event of the 2012 PSP season.[1]
Houston Heat won the professional division, defeating Los Angeles Infamous 4–2 in the final. Tampa Bay Damage finished third and X-Factor fourth.[2][3]
Venue and format
[edit]The tournament took place at Outdoor Xtreme Chesapeake City, at 2941 Old Telegraph Road in Chesapeake City.[1]
The professional division used RaceTo-7, with a 20-minute game limit. Divisions 1 and 2 played RaceTo-5 with 15-minute limits, while Divisions 3 and 4 played RaceTo-4 with 12-minute limits. The event also offered divisional RaceTo-2 and open pump RaceTo-2 competition.[1]
Professional competition
[edit]Houston Heat and Infamous met during the preliminary round, with Infamous winning 4–3. Both teams subsequently reached the professional final, where Houston reversed the result with a 4–2 victory.[3]
Contemporary coverage highlighted Houston's opening eliminations and the contributions of Nick Slowiak, Konstantin Fedorov and Chad George. Fedorov's play on the dorito side and support for George on the snake side helped restrict Infamous's movement.[3]
The victory was Houston's second PSP tournament win of the season, following the 2012 PSP Phoenix Open. The 2012 PSP World Cup remained as the final event on the season's schedule.[1][3]

The pump runner-up's name is corrupted in the surviving PBLeagues standings and associated event roster record. Its identity has therefore been left unresolved.[2][4]
