Extreme Rage Paintball
Extreme Rage Paintball, also known as Extreme Rage Alternative Sports, was an American paintball equipment manufacturer and distributor based in Fort Myers, Florida. Operated by Todd Adamson of Chicago Aftershock and Tami Adamson of Femmes Fatale, the company produced pod harnesses, clothing, protective goggles, paintball loaders and marker accessories. Extreme Rage was active from at least 1997 and became part of Pursuit Marketing Inc. (PMI) by 2003.[1][2][3]
History
Establishment
Extreme Rage was operated by professional paintball players Todd Adamson and Tami Pickering, later Tami Adamson. Todd played for Chicago Aftershock, while Tami captained the women's tournament team Femmes Fatale.[3]
United States trademark records identify 1 September 1997 as the first commercial use of the Extreme Rage name. The trademark was registered to Adamson and Pickering, who operated their business from Fort Myers, Florida.[1]
Extreme Rage Alternative Sports Inc. was incorporated in Florida on 14 July 1998.[2]
Sup'Air distribution
Extreme Rage was an early American distributor of Sup'Air, the French manufacturer of inflatable paintball bunkers.
According to Sup'Air manufacturer Adrenaline Games, Extreme Rage began distributing its inflatable field systems in the United States following their exhibition at the 1997 World Cup in Orlando, Florida. PowerGames handled European distribution during the same period.[4]
The relationship helped introduce inflatable tournament fields to the American market during the transition away from predominantly fixed and natural playing-field obstacles.
Tournament presence
Extreme Rage maintained a presence at major American paintball tournaments during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
At the 1999 Zap Masters, the company exhibited its clothing range and operated a tournament support vehicle.[5]
During the 2000 NPPL World Cup, Extreme Rage shared an exhibition area with KAPP. The companies established a combined retail and hospitality area featuring product displays and a recreational volleyball court.[6]
At the 2001 International Amateur Open, Extreme Rage exhibited its existing soft-goods range alongside a new equipment backpack.[3]
The company also supported tournament competition through equipment sponsorship. At the 2001 Xtreme Tournament Circuit, Extreme Rage supplied ten pod harnesses for the event's prize package.[7]
Expansion into marker accessories
In 2002, Extreme Rage expanded its product range through the Omega Series, a line of paintball marker accessories.
One early product was the Omega Timer 45 Grip, incorporating a digital timer into a wraparound grip designed for paintball markers using a standard 45-style grip frame.[8]
The company subsequently introduced an Omega roller sear and trigger assembly for the WGP Autococker. The system used ball-bearing rollers to reduce friction during trigger operation.[9]
