2007 NPPL Kansas City Open
The 2007 NPPL Kansas City Open was a seven-player National Professional Paintball League tournament held from 21 to 23 September 2007 at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. It was the fourth event of the 2007 Super 7 season, with centre-court competition staged inside the arena. Ironmen and Edmonton Impact shared first place in the professional division.[1][2]
Professional competition
[edit]Eighteen professional teams competed in two preliminary groups of nine. Four teams from each group advanced to a round-robin quarter-final stage, followed by best-of-three semi-finals.[1]
Ironmen defeated Montreal Image in two consecutive semi-final games, while Edmonton Impact did the same against New England Hurricanes.[1]
Shared first place
[edit]The professional final produced one victory for each team and a drawn game. Ironmen and Impact declined the one-on-one tiebreaker and agreed to share first place. WARPIG reported the tie as the announced result; ClassicScores also records both teams in first place.[1][2]
New England Hurricanes defeated Montreal Image for third place.[1]
