The 2000 NPPL Chicago Open was a National Professional Paintball League tournament held at The Badlandz in Crete, Illinois, from 21 to 25 June 2000. Produced by Bad Boyz Toyz, it was the third tournament of the NPPL season and included five-man and ten-man competition.[1]

The Southern California Ironmen won professional ten-man, Fusion won Amateur A ten-man and The Family won Amateur B ten-man. Rabid Virus 1 and Team Spank won the five-man divisions.[2][3][4]

Venue and organisation

[edit]

The venue added a Hyperball-style layout and two Sup'Air fields alongside its woodland fields. Rain before the tournament left muddy areas, although conditions subsequently improved.[1]

Five-man competition began on Wednesday and concluded on Thursday. Schedule changes and a shortage of referees contributed to delays. Avalanche, Aftershock and Strange refereed the ten-man competition, which began on Friday.[1]

Ten-man results

[edit]

Ironmen won the professional final with 125 points, three ahead of Image. Rage finished third and Lockout fourth; only 21 points separated the four teams.[2]

All tables show final-round scores. ClassicScores corroborates the placings.[2][4]
