Kamikaze (Singapore Paintball Team)

Kamikaze was a Singaporean paintball team which competed in the Singapore Paintball Novice Series in 2008 and 2009. Its player Ng Chee Yong received the Most Valuable Player award at the opening leg of the 2009 series. [1][2]

History

Early competition

Kamikaze was among the teams making their first appearance in the Singapore Paintball Novice Series at the second leg of the 2008 season, held at Red Dynasty Paintball Park. [1]

The team also competed in the final leg of the 2008 series. A contemporary report discussed Kamikaze among the younger teams participating in the event. [3]

2009 season

Kamikaze competed in the opening leg of the 2009 Singapore Paintball Novice Series at Red Dynasty Paintball Park on 1 February. Ng Chee Yong, then a second-year student at Nanyang Polytechnic, received the event's Most Valuable Player award. [2]

An April preview of the second leg reported changes to Kamikaze's line-up, naming Mark, Delusion and Nicholas among its additions. [4]

Kamikaze subsequently reached the second round of the event at Pasir Ris Park, where it was among the teams defeated by eventual runners-up Five-O. [5]

Player movements

An October 2009 tournament preview identified Nick and Keith as former Kamikaze players joining Contract Killers. The same preview listed Mark from Kamikaze among Five-O's additions. [6]
