Tournament history

[edit]

Fear Factory was one of four teams at the 2001 Invercargill three-player tournament. The other entries were Flashpoint, Damage Inc and TeamX, with TeamX identified as Damage Inc’s second entry.[1]

The tournament was played over two days. Saturday’s games took place on the Hill Field, while Sunday’s games were played on the Moat Field.[1]

Saturday

[edit]

Fear Factory recorded the following results on the Hill Field:[1]

Opponent Fear Factory score Opponent’s score
Damage Inc 25 25
TeamX 27 5
Flashpoint 4 49

Fear Factory finished Saturday with 56 points, level with Damage Inc and behind Flashpoint on 111.[1]

Sunday

[edit]

Fear Factory recorded the following results on the Moat Field:[1]

Opponent Fear Factory score Opponent’s score
Damage Inc −5 47
TeamX 42 −4
Flashpoint 4 59

Fear Factory’s published Sunday total was 41 points. The figure represents Sunday’s games rather than a cumulative weekend score.[1]

Flashpoint and Damage Inc advanced to the final, which Flashpoint won 49–4. Fear Factory did not qualify for the final. The report does not publish a formal overall placing for Fear Factory.[1]

Valhalla ranking

[edit]

The 2001 Valhalla three-player table identifies the Invercargill competition as the National Three-Man Centre Flag Championships. Fear Factory received a normalised ranking contribution of 20.2 from the preliminary stage.[2]

Fear Factory placed twenty-seventh in the published 2001 national three-player standings with a total of 20.2 ranking points.[2]

The Valhalla figure is a normalised ranking value and is not the same as Fear Factory’s raw tournament scores.
