Contraband (New Zealand Paintball Team)
Contraband was a Dunedin-based New Zealand tournament paintball team documented in South Island competition during 2010 and 2011. The team competed at the 2010 Christchurch Easter tournament and Southern Series II in Ashburton.[1][2]
Tournament history
[edit]2010 Christchurch Easter tournament
[edit]Contraband competed in Division One at the 2010 Christchurch Easter tournament, held at Urban Paintball in Christchurch on 3–4 April.[1]
The team finished seventh, behind SCK, Clown Monkeys, Flashpoint, Mugshot, TPC Blast and Vanguard.[1]
A contemporary forum post assigned Contraband ten points through an experimental ranking formula. These were proposed season-ranking points rather than Contraband's raw tournament score, and the source does not establish that the system was formally adopted by the NZPPL.[1]
2011 Southern Series II
[edit]Contraband represented Dunedin at Southern Series II in Ashburton in April 2011. The five-player event used an open-class centre-flag format and included a double round robin followed by a separate Ashburton Cup competition.[2]
Contraband finished seventh among thirteen teams in the round robin with 1,278 points. The top four teams advanced to the Ashburton Cup, so Contraband did not contest the Cup placings.[2]
No verified roster, captain or home field has been recovered.
