2001 Hawke's Bay Triples was a three-player paintball tournament held on 3–4 February 2001 at Pines Paintball Field, Roy's Hill, Hawke's Bay. Fifteen teams competed, with House Steiner defeating Phoenix Red in the final.[1][2]

Tournament

[edit]

Paintball Hawke's Bay presented the event, with Les Hall as the contact. The announcement specified centre-flag competition under Australian Paintball Players League rules, with an allowance of 100 paintballs per player per end.[1]

Play began on Saturday afternoon and continued on Sunday. The venue's bush field was divided into two playing fields, and each team played fourteen preliminary games.[2]

Results

[edit]

House Steiner and Phoenix Red qualified for the final, which was played on Field 1. House Steiner secured the flag pull and hang to win. Phoenix's contemporary report described this as House Steiner's third consecutive victory at the tournament.[2]

Position Team
1 House Steiner
2 Phoenix Red
3 Phoenix Grey
8 Phoenix Orange

These are the placings explicitly recorded in Phoenix's report, rather than a complete final classification.[2]
