X-Fighter$ Fracture
X-Fighter$ Fracture was a New Zealand competitive paintball team that won the 2013 New Zealand Paintball Players League (NZPPL) Super 5 Man Series championship. The team won the opening two Super 5 Man tournaments and finished third at the season-ending Nationals.[1][2]
The team also won the 2013 NZPPL Race 2 Open Tournament in Auckland, defeating a field that included Australia's Sydney SWAT.[1]
Its contemporary Facebook page described X-Fighter$ Fracture as a New Zealand-based team competing in the NZPPL and Southern Series.[3]

At 2013 NZPPL Super 5 Man Event 1, held on 9–10 March at El Rancho Holiday Park in Waikanae, the team won the Cup competition ahead of Tiger Blood and Wellington Vendetta.[1]
The original Event 1 results identify the winner as X-Fighter$, while the combined series table identifies the entry as X-Fighter$ Fracture.
The team won again at 2013 NZPPL Super 5 Man Event 2, held on 1–2 June at Adrenalin Paintball Sports in Paraparaumu.
KC Damage finished second, followed by Arachnidz.[1]
Following the opening two rounds, X-Fighter$ Fracture led the published series standings with two first-place finishes.

Players
[edit]Billy Jackson
[edit]Wellington player Billy Jackson was associated with X-Fighter$ Fracture during 2013.
An article by Talia Carlisle published in The Wellingtonian on 7 August 2013 identified Jackson, from Seatoun, as a member of the team.[4]
The report confirmed that X-Fighter$ Fracture had won the first two NZPPL tournaments of the season and described plans for the team to attend an Australian Super 7s event in Sydney.
The article establishes Jackson's membership but does not provide the team's complete playing roster.
Other competitions
[edit]X-Fighter$ Fracture's contemporary Facebook description also identified the team as competing in New Zealand's Southern Series.[3]
The precise results of its Southern Series appearances have not been established from the recovered records.
An entry named X-Fighter$ appears in the Australian Super 7s' 2013 professional rankings. The published standings list the entry with 50 ranking points.[5]
The Australian records also contain earlier entries under the names X-Fighters and Sydney X-Fighters. The available sources do not establish whether these were organisationally continuous with the New Zealand-based X-Fighter$ Fracture squad.
Consequently, earlier Australian results have not been included in the team's tournament record.
Historical records
[edit]The principal surviving records of X-Fighter$ Fracture's 2013 season include the NZPPL's official rankings, contemporary newspaper coverage, the team's social media presence and footage produced by Blacksheep Media.
The complete team roster, precise founding date and final operating date have not been independently established.
