Southernlegion Race Series (SLRS)
Southernlegion Race Series (SLRS), also styled Southern Legion Race Series, is a Malaysian tournament paintball league associated with Southern Legion Paintball and Cyberjaya Paintball Park in Selangor, Malaysia.
The series organises race-format competitive paintball events, including Open and Division 3 competitions. Documented tournament records date from at least 2024, with a four-leg championship calendar published for 2025.[1][2]
The competition has been associated with Kelab Southernlegion, a Malaysian paintball organisation whose activities can be traced to at least 2011.[3]
The series was historically hosted at Cyberjaya Paintball Park, which announced the closure of its long-running Cyberjaya location in May 2026.[4]

History
Background
Southern Legion is a longstanding name in Malaysian paintball.
A tournament rulebook prepared for Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2011 identified Kelab Southern Legion Paintball Park as responsible for refereeing, tournament arrangements and competition administration.[3]
The university competition was associated with Kolej Sebelas and held at Universiti Putra Malaysia.
The document demonstrates that Southern Legion was involved in organised paintball more than a decade before the earliest currently documented Southernlegion Race Series events.
However, the available evidence does not establish that the Race Series itself began in 2011.
Southernlegion Race Series 2024
A Southernlegion Race Series Championship was listed for 2–3 November 2024 at Cyberjaya Paintball Park in Selangor.[1]
The event listing identified Farah as the registration contact.
The published directory entry did not provide complete divisional regulations, tournament results or final standings.
The championship establishes documented use of the Southernlegion Race Series name by 2024.
Southernlegion Race Series 2025
The 2025 season was organised as a multi-leg championship.
The Malaysia Paintball tournament directory documented events throughout the year, including the following rounds:
| Leg | Published dates | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| Leg 2 | 26–27 July 2025 | Cyberjaya Paintball Park |
| Leg 3 | 4–5 October 2025 | Cyberjaya Paintball Park |
| Leg 4 | 6–7 December 2025 | Cyberjaya Paintball Park |
The published records confirm the existence of a four-leg season, although the date of Leg 1 has not been independently established from the sources used here.[2][5][6]
The 2025 season included Open and Division 3 competitions.
Both divisions used race-format tournament rules, with different game durations and scoring targets.
Activity in 2026
The Southernlegion Race Series continued to be associated with Cyberjaya Paintball Park during 2026.
On 22 May 2026, the park announced that May would be its final month of operation at Kelab Komuniti Taman Tasik Cyberjaya.
The announcement advertised a Southern Legion Race tournament for 23–24 May 2026.
The park stated that the Southern Legion Race Series had been held at Cyberjaya Paintball Park since the series began.[4]
The announcement also thanked Kelab Southernlegion, tournament teams and other organisations that had supported the venue.
The closure of the Cyberjaya location did not establish that the Southernlegion Race Series had ceased operating.
Subsequent venue arrangements and the complete 2026 championship calendar require further verification.
Competition format
Open Division
The 2025 Southernlegion Race Series included an Open Division.
The published Leg 2 and Leg 3 regulations specified:
- Race-to-4 competition
- Ten-minute game time
- Registration fee of RM750 per team
- Maximum advertised entry of ten teams
The published prize schedule was:
| Position | Advertised prize |
|---|---|
| First | RM4,500 |
| Second | RM3,000 |
| Third | RM2,000 |
| Fourth | RM1,000 |
These figures describe advertised prizes rather than verified payments or tournament results.[2][5]
Division 3
Division 3 provided a separate competition category.
The 2025 event listings specified:
- Race-to-3 competition
- Eight-minute game time
- Registration fee of RM650 per team
The advertised maximum entry varied between rounds, with thirteen teams listed for Leg 2 and fourteen for Leg 3.
The published prize schedules also differed slightly between the rounds.
| Position | Leg 2 advertised prize | Leg 3 advertised prize |
|---|---|---|
| First | RM3,500 | RM3,500 |
| Second | RM2,000 | RM2,000 |
| Third | RM1,500 | RM1,000 |
| Fourth | RM800 | RM800 |
The variation demonstrates that published prizes and entry limits were not necessarily identical at every leg.[2][5]
Paintballs and equipment
The Leg 2 listing advertised paintballs at RM195 per box.
The available event listings do not provide a complete technical rulebook covering marker firing modes, rate-of-fire limits, velocity limits or player classification procedures.
Rules used by other Malaysian leagues should not automatically be attributed to SLRS.
