Mischief Militia was a New Zealand competitive paintball team based in Auckland. The team competed in the South Auckland Paintball Club (SAPC) Race Series and the New Zealand Paintball Players League (NZPPL) during 2014 and 2015.[1][2]

Its documented tournament appearances include the 2014 NZPPL International Pacific Championship at Asylum Paintball, where it finished seventh in Division 1 X-Ball.[3]

History

[edit]

Early records

[edit]

Mischief Militia appeared on the NZPPL's registration list for its third event of 2012, advertised for 20–21 October on the Kāpiti Coast.[4]

The original registration establishes that an entry existed under the team's name, but does not independently confirm its attendance or final result.

The NZPPL's 2013 rankings also contain an entry named Mischief, which finished thirteenth at the second Super 5 Man event and sixteenth in the combined standings after two rounds.[5]

The available records do not establish whether this shortened name refers to Mischief Militia.

2014 SAPC Race Series

[edit]

Mischief Militia competed in three rounds of the 2014 SAPC Open X-Ball Race Series at Asylum Paintball in Kingseat, Auckland.

The team finished sixth in the 2014 SAPC Open X-Ball season standings with 30 ranking points.[2]

2014 NZPPL competition

[edit]

Mischief Militia entered the NZPPL Race 2-4 Event 2 tournament, held on 30–31 August 2014 at Asylum Paintball.

The team competed in the Pro X-Ball division, finishing sixth among six entrants.[6]

The event was won by ADHD, followed by Trauma and The Wild Bunch.

International Pacific Championship

[edit]

On 25–26 October 2014, Mischief Militia competed in the 2014 NZPPL International Pacific Championship at Asylum Paintball.

Eight teams entered the Division 1 X-Ball competition, including South East Cartel from Australia and Phoenix Tahiti from French Polynesia.[3]

Mischief Militia finished seventh overall, earning approximately 22.86 ranking points.

The team's recorded results included a 4–0 victory over South East Cartel and a 3–3 draw against CamoMeat.[7]

The tournament was won by Trauma, followed by Legacy NZ and Kamikaze Knights.

2015 season

[edit]

Mischief Militia returned to the SAPC Open X-Ball competition at the opening event of 2015, held on 31 January–1 February at Asylum Paintball.

The team finished eighth among eight entrants, earning ten ranking points.[1][8]

This is the latest tournament appearance listed on the team's recovered PBLeagues profile. The absence of later results does not establish when it ceased competing.

Historical records

[edit]

Mischief Militia's PBLeagues registration is dated 16 January 2014 and identifies Auckland as the team's hometown.[1]

The earlier NZPPL registration list documents the Mischief Militia name in 2012, so the database registration date should not be interpreted as a confirmed founding date.

The team's precise founding date, complete historical rosters and final period of competitive activity have not been established.
